General Educational Development

The General Educational Development (GED) consists of four subject areas: Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Social Studies and Science.

Required Identification: 

A valid government-issued ID. It must include your name, date of birth, signature and photograph. Acceptable IDs include: Passport, Driver's License, Learner's Permit, National/State/Country ID,  and Alien Registration Card. 

Fees:

Varies by state and/or exam. Additional information available at registration.

Notice*:

Effective October 2, 2023, all age restrictions for 16- and 17-year-old individuals who would like to register for GED Testing, will be handled exclusively by the Official HSE Testing Centers. Per statute, individuals who are 16- or 17-years of age, at the time of taking the GED Test/s, must bring the originals of the following documents to their nearest testing center:

 - Official Withdrawal Form from the last school attended.

- Notarized and dated permission letter from a parent or legal guardian.
