GRE - Subject Test

Graduate Record Exam- Subject Tests

The University of Arizona's Testing Office administers the paper-based Subject Tests in 8 subject areas. The subject tests measure achievement in specific subject areas and assume undergraduate major or extensive background in those disciplines. The following subject exams are given:

  • BioChemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Literature in English
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Psychology

Required Identification: 

Valid, government-issued photo ID is required if testing WITHIN your country of citizenship. If testing OUTSIDE your country of citizenship a valid Passport is required.

Study Materials:

Educational Testing Services (ETS) offers free test preparation materials in a PDF format by visiting Prepare For the Test. If preferred, the appropriate practice book will be sent to the candidate once registered for a Subject Test. 

In addition, the UA Bookstore offers a selection of preparation materials by subject area.
